I'm back to my trip planning... I guess there is a yeah for 1 of the 2 of my blog followers! This blog will be covering our 3rd stop on our Europe tour, which is in Venice Italy!
Venice is a city that says adventure and sailing to distant lands. Marco Polo was 17 years old when he left Venice to sail to Asia. From the 13th - 15th centuries, it was one of the most luxurious cities in Europe, and a great trading empire with the Orient. Today, Venice is still a city like no other, and we will have a great time exploring the labyrinth of streets and campos, shimmering canals and endless bridges.
Here is a list of things I'm am hoping to see in Venice. Fell free to send your suggestions, and yes, I know I don't have a gondola ride on my list!
Venice
1. The Guggenheim
2. Basilica di San Marco
3. Ca' Rezzonico - Museo del Settecento Veneziano
4. Archeaological Muesum of Venice
5. Riva dei Sette Martiri / Shore of Seven Martyrs
6. Ponte delle Maravegie / Bridge of the wonders
7. Sotoportego del Casin dei Nobili/Underpass of the Nobleman's Casino

One more BP post and I'm back to the Travel Plans... I promise!!!
I read a great article this morning that I wanted to share with all of you. It's titled "A GOP chorus of Joe Bartons on the BP oil spill". If you read my previous post about Rep. Joe Barton than you know where I stand on this oil-supported idiot. But after reading this post I found that Barton's remarks were no spontaneous gaffe. They came in a prepared statement and represent his genuine view of the situation: that the rights of a private company are absolute even when weighed against the clear interests of the public.
I think that BP's reponse to the entire issue is about as useful as a "steak at a Vegan conference"... (inside joke) if you've been watching! CLICK HERE to view a video spoof that I think closer resembles the truth than what we're seeing and listening too in these BP hearings... but, let me know what you think?
As always keep it fun and keep it Weird!!!

Texas Rep Joe Barton... What the hell man?!!!
Gotta take a quick break from the Travel log to discuss Politics... Ugh... I know!
Yesterday, Congressman Joe Barton from Texas' 6th district opened his mouth and made Texans look dumber than Milli Vanilli fans of the early nineties! Thanks alot Congressman Barton for making us Texans look like idiots! For those of you who dont know who Joe Barton is, he is the Congressman from Texas 6th district which is East Texas, click here to learn more about this idiot.
Barely 10 minutes into Thursday's landmark congressional testimony — where BP CEO Tony Hayward and other leading company executives are revisiting the Gulf Coast oil spill before a subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee — the first controversial statement has entered the record.
GOP Rep. Joe Barton of Texas, the ranking member on the House Energy Committee, made a decisive splash in his opening remarks.A staunch conservative who has a long record of backing oil industry interests, Barton apologized to BP CEO Tony Hayward for the "shakedown" the Obama White House pulled on the company. (Barton has received more than $1.5 million in campaign donations from the oil industry, according to Open Secrets, a nonpartisan watchdog group.)
GOP leaders have already began to quickly disclaim 'shakedown' apology
I think Jon Stewart's reaction from last nights The Daily Show best sums up my feeling on Mr. Barton. Let me know what you think?
As always keep it light and keep it Weird!

Forget Paris! It's off to Salzburg for the Second stop of our Euro-tour!
The Hills are alive with the sound of Music! Ok so Maybe I'm not Julie Andrews but at least I'm also not Lost in Space! (Look it up! Penny Robinson!)
So this Blog is going to be a "Fun Facts" about the Sound of Music since I have never actually been to Salzburg! Followed by my Salzburg sites and tours to see list, remember, feel free to send your ideas and suggestions.... Here we go with the Fun Facts!
The Sound of Music:
Salzburg Austria:
1. Salzburger Dom Catherdral
2. Salzburg Castle & Hohensalzburg Fortress
3. Mozart’s birthplace & living space
4. Mirabelli Palace & Gardens
5. Hot-Air Balloning through the Alps
6. Sound of Music Tour
Remember... I'm looking for any suggestions on things to do or see in any of these locations so feel free to chime in with any suggestions!

The Sound of Music:
- Nicholas Hammond is the American actor who played the role of Friedrich von Trapp in The Sound of Music, but did you know he also spent 2 season's as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the 1970's TV show The Amazing Spider-Man.
- Darryl and Richard D. Zanuck first asked Robert Wise to direct the film, but he turned originally it down because it was "too saccharine". Wise later decided to helm the film after a few months of director hunting by the producers.
- Did you Know? The Sound of Music was an interim film for the director Robert Wise, produced to mollify the studio while he developed the difficult film The Sand Pebbles, starring Steve McQueen, Richard Attenborough and Candice Bergen. Wise would later speak of The Sand Pebbles as the film he most wanted to direct, though he had earlier explored such anti-war themes in The Day the Earth Stood Still.
- Originally, Maria had been hired only to be a governess to young Maria who had come down with scarlet fever and needed her lessons at home.
- Unlike in the film, Georg had considered a position in the Kriegsmarine but ultimately did decide to emigrate with his family to Italy to go on yet another singing tour. (*)
- While the film shows the von Trapp family hiking over the Alps from Austria to Switzerland, from Salzburg this is impossible. Salzburg is only a few kilometres away from the Austrian–German border and is much too far from either the Swiss or Italian borders for a family to escape by walking. Had the von Trapps hiked over the mountains they would have in all likelihood ended up in Germany near the Kehlsteinhaus, Hitler's mountain retreat in Berchtesgaden.

Runaway train never comin back... Well maybe?
I wanted a light headline for today's blog...So I've been kicking ass this week at work yet I'm getting more and more tired of doing my job. That's enough update on me... time for a little social commentary.
So I was watching Breakout on Discovery Channel last night, and it had me rolling!!! In case you haven't seen the show yet it follows the story of people who have broken out of prision through the criminals own words. Of course, all of the criminals for the show were caught so you always know kinda how its gonna end but it's still pretty interesting. Anyways, last night's episode was about these 2 cellmates who dug a hole in their roof to escape.
They used a screw to start the hole and after 17 months of scratching away at their ceiling they finally got through to the attic. And the part that had me laughing was on the night of their escape 1 of the 2 inmates changed his mind midway! After they had already climbed up onto the roof and thrown there rope made of sheets over the side to climb down. Apparently not all inmates are fearless, this dude was a hair from freedom and was about to be stopped by a 40 ft climb (scared of heights).
So... the inmate who still wanted to escape told the other inmate that he would climb down to show him how easy it was. And the inmate climbed about 10 feet and then got caught in the rope and fell the other 30 ft! Then the show went to a commercial break! I didn't need the rest of the show for entertainment because all I was curious about after seeing that was the scared inmates reaction!
If I was scared before the dude fell, that would be it! As soon as the dude fell who wouldn't be able to look up for help because my ass would be back in our jail cell with the quickness! What would the other guy expect? I was scared before you fell that 30 ft and put yourself in tremendous pain, but now that your crying for me to help you I'm better? The dude ended up sucking it up and grabbing the hurt inmate but they didn't make it far because idiot number 1 had to hurt himself!
I guess the moral to this blog is I am not a good criminal or escape convict.... Note to any people trying to recruit me for the previously mentioned jobs, look elsewhere! Also no point to the bottom picture I just think it's funny!!!
Keep it Wierd!

Mondays Suck!
So it's Monday again... Booooooooo!
I got to work this morning 3 minutes late and I've been at it ever since. Why do people want results at 8:32 am on a Monday? Also, I had a coworker come into today who had been on maturnity leave for the last 6 months... Good God I wish she had stayed home!!!
So today sucks! But at least I have a job and a girl who still loves me! It could always be worse right? I could be this guy....
As always keep it light and keep it weird!

Ozini GIFs // Not flexible at all
Some days you land perfectly... Others you fall right through!
I've been having the "Day from Hell" today! Not that demons are messing with me as I slowly roast over my eternal flame or anything... but rather several people are putting unrealistic tasks and timelines on me right now. I understand that there is supply and demand, but sometimes I don't think people realize that time is part of that supply side!
I wish college was actually a place to go to prepare for the real world! Wouldn't it be nice if there were classes that dealt with personal stress management? Or maybe a class on how to say to people, "No", "That is just not enough time", or "You're an idiot"... without pissing them off or putting your own butt on the line!
It's days like this that make me appreciate my girlfriend and all of her awesomeness even more! If you had a tough day today or even in the near future, do what I do. Go home grab a beer and make unwanted sexual advances to that special person in your life! I don't need to hear "yes" from her every time, but I do appreciate the talent she has at telling me "No" and still letting me feel like I didn't lose!
Thanks to all my friend and loved ones for all your support... And as always, Stay Weird!!!
Thanks,
Weird Texas!

Just felt the need to share this as well... I want to make sure this blog is light, fun, and full of humor. What could be lighter than a clown hanging out with a cop? I here a joke in there some where... maybe we should ask our good friend Sugar Weasel what he thinks? Don't know who Sugar Weasel is?... Click here! Oh and stay tuned for more... More videos... more tweets... and more blog entries into the mind of Weird Texas!!!
Who am I? Who the crap are you?!!!
Blog: Star Date 4/15/2010
So I've decided to start blogging but, I don't know what to talk about necessarily. Maybe I should start off with the basics. I'm a total dork... I can admit it. I got decent grades in school, got into video and music editing and found that no one wanted to hire an idea man. Wanted to transition into comedy writing but once again, no one wants to take the advice of an red-headed (I pretty sure their is a racial conspiracy against gingers) smart ass! So I did what any idiot in my position would do... I got a job. Not the greatest job in the world but it pays the bills for now and lets me take my girlfriend out from time to time.
I was kind of getting depressed with my job because it wasn't what I necessarily saw for my life. So I decided in my spare time and even some of my daily work time that I would create my own alter ego... Hence Weird Texas! I know there's a book with the same name but I still choose it because it gave my location but also it gave a minor description. If someone is going to name themselves "Weird" anything that must mean 1 of 2 things... Either they are in fact a weirdo... eek! Or they are just secure enough with themselves to make fun of themselves, because we are all a little weird in our own unique ways! I'm going to try to create a number of videos ranging from comedy to travel to random other elements of my life because that's what makes me happy! I'm also twitting like a MoFo and creating this blog to see if anyone feels my vibe. I know this may or may not make sense to anyone else, but it makes me happy thinking there is a chance I can entertain and create things and have an outlet to share them as well!
If you feel the love, feel free to send it back! Also share my twitter account with your friends and help me build up my city of weirdos into a nation of Weird Texas fans!
As always... Keep it loose like a moose!
Weird Texas
